Behind The Scenes-Pacers / Garmin

For the past few weeks Chris over at Pacers and I have been tossing around ideas for a video project for Garmin and a running accomplishment Chris completed last year.  We started shooting last week and finished it up yesterday.  Here are a few BTS photos I took.  The video edit should be complete in a few weeks.  There are lots of parts and pieces to complete the final edit.

Thanks

The Heart and Trotter

A few weeks ago I flew out to San Diego for my buddies James and Trey's KICKSTARTER video for their organic full animal butcher shop.  It was pretty much meat meat and more meat right off the plane.  Instead of me rambling on about what James and Trey are trying to get started in San Diego, I'll let the video do the talking.  Enjoy

Official Announcement- "Mid Atlantic in Motion"

If you're a frequent viewer of my blog you've seen images from my timelapses I've been shooting for the past 9 months.  4 years ago I saw some work by Tom Lowe who did "Timescapses" and ever since, I've wanted to do my own timelapse project.  For those who aren't sure exactly what a timelapse is, it's basically a large amount of photos being shot over a certain period of time.  Once all the photos are shot you bring them onto your computer and edit them.  You can get 24 or 30 photos per second which is the standard frame rates for video.  Since last September I've been going to various places all over the Mid Atlantic, from Baltimore down to Cape Hatteras and over to mid West Virginia.  I've been shooting anything from the sun rising to the Milky Way and cities from 40 floors up.  All of these will finally come together in late June.  The video / film will be called "Mid Atlantic in Motion".

With about 60% of my project filmed, I will be heading to West VA for a 5 day camping mission to capture the stars and other amazing things that I've scouted out.  The first weekend of June I'll head back down to Cape Hatteras and that should be the final trip of this project.

Busy Weekend

I don't know about yours but my weekend was balls to the wall busy.  I had 2 shoots for Pacers and I went out to White Oak Canyon this morning at 4:30am.  Here are some random shots I got while onset. A big blog update will be out tomorrow with some official news.

Manhattan

I was up in NYC for a meeting and I brought my camera and tripod just incase I had time to shoot something.  After a few hours of huge ass beers at a German beer garden I headed to TimeSquare.  That place was the happening spot.  I shot a timelpase (below) but it wasn't planned at all, I just set up, snapped and left.  It's very hard to judge the light there.  The screens are so massive and they play random stuff you know know if you're shutter or fstop is correct.  I shot 350 pictures and this "couple" in front of the camera wasn't talking to each other the entire time.  She was playing on her phone a lot too.  It looks like a lot of fun.

Staying Warm

Most people in OB (Ocean Beach) are hippies or sometimes a combination of homeless and hippy.  These guys I believe are just homeless and most likely on drugs.

MAKE SURE YOU STRETCH, YOU DON'T WANT TO PULL A HAMMY

While in San Diego, most of this trip has been filming / preparing for James Holtslag's KICKSTARTER video for his new organic butcher shop which will feature meats from animals that have all grass and veggie / fruit diets.  I did get some time to walk the beach yesterday during sunrise and get some surf shots.  Last night I shot some pretty epic timelapse stuff that will incorporated into his KICKSTARTER video.

On the Road Again

Yesterday we went to an organic farm an hour east of San Diego to check out how the animals are raised and fed.  We filmed a little for James' KICKSTARTER video I'm putting together for his future shop "THE HEART AND TROTTER" which will be based here in San Diego.  Here are some images from the drive up yesterday.  I've always loved unstable moving shots that produce loads of colors on random focus points.

Losing Equipment

I don't know what's worse, my sorry ass losing my intervalometer or canon still not incorporating that feature into ALL DSLR's.  I set up my slider, motor powered up and looked and my bag and NO intervalometer.  Either way it was kind of a busted sunset on SUNSET Cliffs.
