NYC

I went to NYC this weekend.  I saw a lot of things I want to come back and film in the future.

Filming at Great Falls

I've started filming random stuff and I started off by going to Great Falls and filming a series of different shots of the falls at 7am.  7 People have died in 2010 while falling off the rocks so I had to be extremely careful.

San Diego Trip

Last week I was out in a chilly version of THE WHALES VAGINA (San Diego). James and I woke up at 6am 3 days straight to film some surfing. I filmed about 80 minutes of pretty decent footage and I've completed the edit on my first surf related clip called "liquid hills". I'll be posting it in a few weeks along another clip I'm currently working on. I did learn a few things out there, TRADER JOES has GREAT deals on WINE, BIKES are $$$$$$ and Phil Mickelson lives in a place that on paper, looks like"LA GOLLA" but is really "LA JOLLA" and sounds like "LA HOYA". Does that make sense? I thought so.

Meanwhile "Frenchy" is still the fucking man, lil EEO has bad allergies and everyone is rocking the red!!

First 3d HD camera

This is the worlds first 3d HD camera from Panasonic. The main body looks very similar to my HMC 150 and the HVX 200 but the lens is obviously different. I would love to meet the sucker who purchases this right now. 3D technology to me is too advanced for home use. I saw Avatar in 3d and it was amazing but I can't imagine coming home putting on the glasses and watching ESPN. Most people do things like clean, browse the internet and more when watching TV, so who wants to wear the glasses when doing any of those things? How the hell will someone even edit in 3D? Last I checked, Final Cut Pro and Avid don't support 3d Editing. Blue-Ray is just now becoming the norm and HD is FINALLY here to stay until the next greatest format. I don't think 3d will be big for at least 6-8 years, if ever. So when you hear all this hype from Sony, Panasonic, LG etc. about their new 3D TV, please remember when the first HD TV's came out and how long it took for Direct TV and Cable providers to actually broadcast in HD.

The WEEKEND

The weekend was packed with different events. Late Friday, Kevin B and I wrapped up the snowboard season with a bang. We just walked up to the snowboard park and camped out and certain features and did some filming. We got some pretty decent footage for my "Highlighted Attributes" film. Saturday we went drinking in Old Town Alexandria for the Saint Patrick's day Parade. Sunday night I had my flag football game and we got RULED, AGAIN!! Our record is now a NICE 0-5.

The Hill of Death-2010 Blizzard-Washington D.C. from Mike Zorger on Vimeo.

Since as far back as I can remember sledding was the coolest thing to do in the winter. My friends and I used to make insane sledding trails through the woods and usually it had crazy jumps at the end. This winter has been one for the history books and Jarrett made one crazy trail at his place in Roslyn.

Balls, Bogies, and Bros-A Golf Movie from Mike Zorger on Vimeo.

This is a mini golf movie I've put together with some of my friends. I know golf isn't the most exciting thing to watch if Tiger isn't playing but this was one of the cooler mini projects I've done. enjoy

TEST POST

For the longest time I've hated on peoples blogs because most of the time famous people or athletes say some pretty ridiculous stuff. I'm basically creating it so the other mike zorger can't use my name. Yes, there's more than 1 of me, crazy.
