THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS-Video Review

I haven't made a full skateboard video/ film / movie since 2005 and all I've been waiting for since 2005 is a great mid Atlantic skateboard video that is up to par with what John Edwards and I put out.  It took us almost 2 years to film for "Autonomous" and at the time those guys had big sponsors but just beginning to get lots of coverage in mags and other videos.  Just after the premier of Autonomous Johnny and myself felt it would've been pretty much impossible to top what we just did.  Everyone started filming with staff filmers to companies or moving away, not to mention Johnny was shortly moving down to Charlotte.

I wasn't able to make the big premier for TMKF down in Richmond but I was able to check out the D.C. Premier.  Over the past 2 years I went on about 10 sessions with Kevin and the crew, and saw the new spots that were getting found.  Kevin loves freshly found spots just as much as hearing about Erich B. learning a new trick. Some spots were older spots that were revamped and some were spots that were found by me and just KILLED.  Some spots were found and modified by Kevin.  He'd use anything from a saw to bondo to make a spot skateable.

Prior to showing up to the BRIDGE SPOT, I totally expected it to be crazy with about 100+ people waiting to watch the film but there may have been 40-50 people there.  I really think it's bogus to not support a skateboard film maker who's done lots for the skaters in the D.C.area, is straight disrespectful.  NO EXCUSES.

Kevin told me weeks ago him and Zac were editing about 18-20 hours per section.  Normally I would call bull shit because people like to pad the time they work on anything BUT I believe it after watching the opening.  Kevin is a pretty slow editor, he'll tell you any day of the year he hates editing but with Zac there, those two were able to create some Alien Workshop like genius.  I say "Alien Workshop like" because it very much looks like an Alien workshop video with the politically based twirl.  Instead of bugs and animals between skate clips you have internet ripped art figures, news clips and movies.  The video features Caleb Ocasio, Ty Beall, Jack Beckett and Erich Bielefeldt along with Gilbert Crockett and Kelly O'Brien.  Celebs started off the video and ending his killer section with a trick on Gold Rail  that's been tried many times by a nameless fellow (Alex Hanson), BS 180 nosegrind.  I have maybe 2 tapes of Alex attempting the bs 180 nosegrind, glad to see it's finally gone down.  I'll let you watch the rest to see what goes down.  I will hint that a certain double kinker got man handled by Erich.

My overall rating for TMKF is a solid 4.6 of 5 Zorgies.

So the question I ask myself, have we found the best skateboard video the mid Atlantic has seen in a long time?  I'll let you be the judge.
