Hurricane Sandy 1 Year Anniversary
This photo was taken the day after Sandy zipped through the mid-Atlantic. I was close to being arrested by a tree chaser (park police) since I was outside of the closed off areas at Great Falls.

A little blurb about "Mid-Atlantic in Motion"
A few weeks ago I was approached by Yahoo Espanol to show case MID ATLANTIC IN MOTION on their video site. After reviewing the terms and conditions, I said NO but those terms changed late last week and everything was good to go. Here's a little write up about MID ATLANTIC IN MOTION.

This is Bryce Canyon
A few days ago I had the chance to check out Bryce Canyon, Utah. Of course I packed my gear to shoot time-lapses. I didn't do loads of research prior to going there, only making sure the park was open due to the gov. shutdown and I researched the weather. Once I arrived it was in the 40's but once the sun dropped below the horizon the temps went down to 20 degrees. I shot a few timelapses before the sun fell and when I set up for my night shots I noticed my intervolometer broke. Well the screen was the only real thing that broke so that required me to sit on the cold ground and manually snap the photos and I had to continue to do so the next morning. I'm not one to really complain but god damn it was cold, I couldn't feel my legs. I planned on my remote to handle all of the timelapse business for me while I was reading in my rental car.
Here are some random stills. I'll be doing a mini timeapse montage in a few weeks.

Self Portrait time

With a 70% moon, you get a day time look. Lots of people typically think this is a day shot but you can see some stars.

East Coast Style Waves
I went to Cape Hatteras for my buddies wedding and there happened to be some swell that covered most of the mid-atlantic. Hoping to get some nice sunrise shots but we'll see if the weather holds up.

The Government Shutdown = timelapse scouting
I went downtown today to start scouting some angles and spots for my next timelapse film. I wasn't aware that curbside parking was federal property vs. city property so parking was pretty hard to come by. I parked about 1.5 miles from the lincoln memorial and losing sunlight. Fences were up blocking entrances to all memorials and park property but everyone seemed to not care and were going around, over and threw and I don't blame them. I never had cared about the government or ever talked about it on my blog but the US Government needs to get their heads out of their asses.
Here are some images from my scouting mission. No clouds to really make a good time-lapse but it was good to get out and shoot for the first time in 2 months.
